On Friday, Dec. 7, the College of Law was honored to have alumna and incoming Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, Juliana Stratton (JD ’92), attend and provide remarks at a special event hosted in conjunction with the Illinois State Bar Association. This reception brought together not only DePaul Law alumni, but lawyer-leaders from across the state of Illinois.
In her remarks, Lt. Governor Elect Stratton spoke about the important role her DePaul education has played in her life. She stated that DePaul’s Vincentian values influenced her legal career and inspired her to become involved in public service, from serving as a local school board member to becoming a state representative, and, now, Lieutenant Governor. In closing her remarks, she mentioned that while the state of Illinois faces many challenges, we have the great advantage of having institutions like DePaul that are producing the next generation of talented lawyers, leaders and advocates.
