Barre Burn is a unique total body workout utilizing the ballet barre, light dumbbells and dance-inspired movements to perform small isometric contractions and large, dynamic movements all in one class. If you do not have light dumbbells, please use canned goods or other lightweight household items.
Kim Schiefelbein has worked in the fitness industry since 1992 and has taught classes at DePaul since 2011. She holds a group fitness certification from AFAA and is certified by Barre Above, and has recently completed Barre Now’s advanced certification through Barre Essentials. Barre is her specialty. In addition, she holds certifications from Stages Cycling and AIR Aerial Yoga. In addition, Kim was honored to serve as a fitness ambassador for Lululemon and Athleta for many years. Kim teaches Barre Burn and Abs and Stretch at DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus normally, and continues to teach virtually now.
